Hooded Horse has announced that Breachway, Edgeflow Studio’s sci-fi roguelike deck-building game, will enter early access for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store on August 30, 2024.
In Breachway, you choose from several ship classes to assemble your crew, customize their loadout, and engage in dynamic turn-based space battles. Use your deck, ship resources, and abilities to maximize the effectiveness, upgrading equipment to unlock new cards and discover combinations to tackle increasing threats while exploring a volatile galaxy full of competing factions in search of “The Signal.”
The initial early access version of Breachway will feature four ship types with unique layouts, synergies, bonuses, and faction standings. You can use various combat systems, including lasers, missiles, flak, railguns, and hacking. The game offers over 200 cards to enhance modules and fine-tune loadouts, unique characters to recruit, each with special combat abilities, and a galaxy map with two regions featuring distinct events, enemy types, and boss encounters.
Breachway also includes four factions with unique events and allegiances, meta progression between runs with unlockable ship bonuses, modules, and variants, and numerous space stations, missions, items, and random events. The game had a successful run during the February 2024 edition of Steam Next Fest, becoming one of the top 50 most-played demos out of over 1,000 games. To date, it has collected over 150,000 wishlists ahead of its early access release.
