Publisher Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Keepsake Games have announced that their cooperative first-person shooter, Jump Ship, will be available in Early Access for Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam this summer. Sign-ups for the closed beta test are already open, giving players the chance to be among the first to experience this dynamic space adventure.
Daniel Kaplan, CEO of Keepsake Games, emphasized that the team’s goal was to create a game that blends fun with an authentic space exploration experience. With experience from renowned studios such as Hazelight, Mojang, and Coffee Stain, the development team knows what it takes to craft a successful co-op game. Kaplan highlighted that player feedback is crucial for the further development of Jump Ship, making the Early Access phase an ideal opportunity to collaborate with the community and refine the game before its full release.
Jump Ship offers a four-player cooperative experience, where you take on the roles of a spacecraft crew. The game combines sandbox-style space exploration with intense combat, both on planets and in orbit. You will be able to pilot the ship, explore planets on foot, and scavenge for parts to upgrade and repair their vessel. Each mission is handcrafted with procedurally generated elements, ensuring that no two journeys are ever the same.
One of the game’s most important aspects is crew cooperation. Players will need to take on different roles, from pilot and engineer to explorer, to successfully complete missions. Communication and teamwork will be essential for overcoming challenges such as enemy attacks, onboard fires, and managing the ship’s power systems while in motion.
