The 1930s-inspired first-person shooter, MOUSE: P.I. for Hire, will officially launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam) in 2025, developer Fumi Games and publisher PlaySide Publishing have announced. This unique game combines the gritty style of noir films with the whimsical, hand-drawn animation of classic 1930s cartoons.
MOUSE: P.I. for Hire offers a one-of-a-kind visual experience, blending monochromatic rubber hose animation and a retro jazz soundtrack to immerse players in a world straight out of the 1930s. Players step into the role of Private Investigator Jack Pepper, a former war hero turned detective, as he navigates through the crime-ridden streets of Mouseburg. What begins as a simple case quickly spirals into a complex web of murder, corruption, and unexpected enemies.
You can enhance your gameplay with a variety of power-ups suited for different playstyles. From using a can of Spike-D Spinach for enhanced melee attacks to attaching a grappling hook to Pepper’s mouse tail for rapid movement, the game promises creative ways to take down enemies. You can also explore non-linear maps and tackle levels in their own way, using a mix of melee and ranged weapons.
