1047 Games has announced an open alpha test for Splitgate 2, the long-awaited sequel to the popular portal shooter. The alpha test will run from February 27 to March 2 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S consoles, and PC via Steam. Players will have the opportunity to try out new modes, maps, weapons, and much more.
The open alpha test brings various innovations, including completely new gameplay modes, maps, and weapons. One of the highlights of the testing is Multi-Team Portal Warfare, where three teams of eight players face off in intense battles. This mode combines fast mobility through portals with large combat arenas.
The Multi-Team Portal Warfare will also bring two additional modes: Multi-Team Domination (teams compete to capture and control four zones while trying to prevent opponents) and Multi-Team Hotzone (players fight to capture the central zone and defend it from rival teams).
In addition, the alpha test will introduce Splitball, a fast mode that combines elements of Capture the Flag and Halo's Oddball, as well as Firecracker, which is an enhanced version of the Search & Destroy mode that now allows respawns. Along with all these modes, three maps will be included.
