The tactical martial arts game Forestrike, which blends kung fu with supernatural elements, unveiled a new trailer during The MIX Spring Showcase and confirmed its release for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. It offers a unique experience of intense battles where every defeat means starting over. Developed by Skeleton Crew, known for the acclaimed Olli from 2021, and published by Devolver Digital.
The story follows Yu, a martial arts master embarking on a grand journey to free the emperor from the influence of the evil admiral. The game’s core mechanic is “Foresight”, a meditative technique that allows Yu to visualize the battle before it happens. This ability lets him replay fights endlessly to discover the perfect sequence of movements that will secure victory.
Forestrike embraces a roguelike design, generating unique encounters that require constant adaptation and improvisation. While Foresight allows for experimentation without consequences, real combat demands precision and strategic thinking. Each victory brings new challenges, and Yu must continuously evolve to survive.
